The Integrated Report

Overview

This training  offers a practical understanding of the International <IR> Framework ‘s fundamental concepts, Guiding Principles and Content Elements. An integrated report connects the financial and non-financial and offers a holistic view of an organization’s strategy, performance, governance and prospects. Integrated reporting offers many benefits to an organization, including assisting in embedding integrated thinking. Integrated thinking is leading and managing an organization in a connected world where all six capitals affect each other.

For board directors and executives, the training offers  understanding of the concepts and requirements of the International <IR> Framework needed when approving their organization’s integrated report as well as the importance of integrated thinking. For preparers of reports it offers the practical guidance needed to start or improve the integrated reporting process and understanding the requirements to be met for the report to be in accordance with the International <IR> Framework.

Format

The training format is flexible and can be tailored to suit your requirements.

It is not intended for public classes, but rather for an organization’s leaders and/or IR team to learn together about preparing a quality integrated report and discussing matters of particular concern for their organization, with an expert.

An optional extra is to include discussion of aspects of your latest integrated report and how it shapes up to the International <IR> Framework.

The training will be conducted online and is globally applicable.

The standard training is generally conducted over 3 hours but can be shortened as necessary.

Certification

When booking through the Good Governance Academy, all attendees will receive certificates of attendance.

Our certificates of attendance are used by most professional associations for continuing professional development purposes.

Chief Executive Officer, Integrated Reporting Committee of South Africa

Leigh has been deeply involved in integrated reporting in South Africa and internationally since its emergence in 2010. She worked on the development of the International <IR> Framework released in 2013 and its revision in 2021. She has consulted and run board and executive training on integrated reporting internationally and in South Africa and has written numerous publications. Leigh is Chief Executive Officer of the Integrated Reporting Committee of South Africa and is its technical head. She has adjudicated for integrated reporting awards, is a Chartered Accountant and an award-winning business journalist in print and television.
