The Good Governance Academy invites its community to join the live stream of a Fireplace Conversation hosted by the Namibia Institute of Corporate Governance.
Professor Dunia Prince Zongwe and Heinrich Mihe Gaomab II will examine the relationship between shareholder value and the public interest, bringing legal, economic and governance perspectives to the responsibilities facing boards and organisational leaders.
Drawing on legal, economic and governance perspectives, the speakers will consider how corporate purpose, stakeholder accountability, public trust and long-term value are reshaping expectations of boards and organisational leaders.
The confirmed event brief identifies the central focus as the approach taken by boards and managers to maximise shareholder value while managing the public interest.

Our Speakers
Professor Dunia Prince Zongwe
Professor Dunia Prince Zongwe is a legal scholar specialising in finance, corporate law, development, decoloniality, human rights and natural resources, with a strong focus on Africa, India and the Global South.
He has presented at universities and institutions around the world and has consulted for organisations including the World Bank, UNESCO, the European Union and the Law Society of Namibia. He holds master’s and doctoral degrees in law from Cornell University.
Heinrich Mihe Gaomab II
Heinrich Mihe Gaomab II is a Namibian economist, corporate leader and governance practitioner with more than 30 years of experience across the public and private sectors.
He has held senior leadership positions at the Namibia Industrial Development Agency, the Namibian Competition Commission and the African Development Bank, and has served on numerous governing bodies in Namibia. He is an honorary member of the Namibia Institute of Corporate Governance and holds a master’s degree in Quantitative Development Economics from the University of Warwick.
