Corporate social responsibility is often treated as a voluntary commitment. India has taken a different path, transforming CSR into a formal legal responsibility and creating one of the world’s most ambitious frameworks for responsible business.

About this webinar

Join Associate Professor Sezer Bozkus Kahyaoglu and Dr Jagbir Singh Kadyan for a conversational Journal Webinar examining the development of mandatory corporate social responsibility in India.

The discussion will explore how India’s CSR legislation evolved, how it has affected businesses and communities, and what this distinctive approach can teach policymakers, governance professionals and organisational leaders elsewhere in the world.

Drawing on Jagbir’s academic and professional experience, the conversation will consider the relationship between responsible business practices, sustainable development, shared value and the wider future of corporate governance.

Who should attend?

This conversation is intended for board members, corporate governance professionals, sustainability and ESG practitioners, business leaders, policymakers, researchers and academics interested in the changing role of corporate social responsibility.
